Around the Corner

I’ve been hearing a bunch about Christmas lately.  You know, how it must be right around the corner and retail stores must get their stores appropriately ready for such an event.  Not that Halloween or Thanksgiving have yet to arrive, but hey it’s just around the corner.  And it’s got me thinking.  I really do not want to do Christmas this year.  Not Christmas as usual anyway.  My mom has talked for the last few years about trimming Christmas back a bit, which we have, and doing something different with our money.

I’ve been thinking recently about what I can do with my money other than spend it on myself.  Christmas seems like a wonderful opportunity to seriously bless some other people instead of looking to get something from someone.  I think it might be a little weird to not have the traditional big Christmas gift unwrapping time, but I’m pretty pumped about doing it.  Actually following through on one of those things you always say you’d like to do for others.

It’s something to think about for sure.  Maybe this will encourage you to think about what you are doing for Christmas this year because hey, it’s just around the corner.
